「S P A C E」Chapter 2, DEPTH

FORME DE FLUIDITÉ’s「SPACE」collections have deep meaning for the brand. For her inspiration, designer Sophia XiNLI delved back into her experience as an architect, and also, she has been greatly influenced by Constructivism which had a fundamental effect on modern art movements of the 20th century, such as Bauhaus and De Stijl movements, and upon architecture, industrial design, film and fashion etc, to interpret concepts of SPACE and TIME - concepts intimately linked to philosophical theories of humankind existence – through the language of fashion. From her point of view, fashion design has been given a new meaning and proposition in the new era of post-pandemic and accelerated fusion of real and virtual worlds. More than ever, fashion design should express the essence of society and technology and be closer to the wearer’s spiritual world.

We affirm depth as the only pictorial and plastic form of space.

—— Naum Gabo

This Collection explores the concept of SPACE through Depth – the designs exploit the separation and interspacing introduced by layers to create a flow that blends the body and clothes into one.

Interwoven surface planes and lines punctuated by spaces, enhanced by the use of translucent textures, form subtle layers. With movement, the spaces become present, depth is perceived, and rhythm is generated with a symbiosis of body and clothes.

The exquisite layers are enriched by the interplay of translucent fabric with lustrous or matte textures. The colour palette introduces low saturated Morandi tones along with classic black and white, endowing the collection with a subtle dynamism.
